David A. Shuford is counsel in the Charlotte office of Robinson, Bradshaw & Hinson, P.A. He has a multi-disciplinary practice focused on helping clients navigate the challenges and opportunities of international commerce. His practice includes a broad range of domestic and international business transactions and commercial matters (including joint ventures, product supply and distribution, intellectual property licensing, software and software-as-a-service distribution, and corporate structure and governance), international compliance matters (including data protection and privacy, anti-corruption, export control, anti-money laundering, and economic sanctions compliance), and international disputes (including international commercial and investor-State arbitration). He also has substantial experience in the areas of public international law, international trade and investment law, and government relations and crisis management.
His clients include U.S. and foreign companies seeking to expand in overseas markets and foreign companies seeking to establish and grow their operations in the United States. He has represented clients operating in a wide range of industries, including financial services, manufacturing, information technology, logistics, health care, infrastructure, renewable energy, oil and gas, and mining. He has worked with clients on matters in North America, South America, Europe, Russia, the Middle East and North Africa, sub-Saharan Africa, Central Asia, and East Asia.
Prior to joining Robinson Bradshaw, Mr. Shuford was an associate in the international practice of Covington & Burling LLP in Washington, D.C. He previously served as a legal advisor at the Iran-United States Claims Tribunal at The Hague, The Netherlands.
